Andrew Newman

Get the inside track on how to create entertainment for television with a panel of experts led by Andrew Newman, David Flynn, and Karen Smith.

Andrew Newman has been Chief Executive of Objective Productions since January 2011, with previous roles as Commissioning Editor for Entertainment and Head of Comedy and Entertainment at Channel 4, overseeing programmes including TFI Friday, Da Ali G Show, 8/10 Cats, Peep Show, Derren Brown and The Inbetweeners.

David Flynn has been a Managing Director at Remarkable Television since its creation in 2009, executive producing hit shows such as Million Pound Drop Live, Pointless, Seven Days on the Breadline and Divided. He was previously Managing Director of Brighter Pictures.

Karen Smith’s production credits include the hugely successful Strictly Come Dancing, Comic Relief Does Fame Academy and The Games. She started as a Day Producer on This Morning, and has since worked with Endemol, BBC Entertainment, Shine as Director of Programmes and Joint Managing Director, before starting her own company Tuesday’s Child in September 2012.
