Membership in Scotland

Are you based in Scotland and involved in the Film, Television or Video Games industries? Find out more about BAFTA membership options.

There are three membership categories for people based in Scotland.

Full Membership

Full Membership of BAFTA including additional benefits with BAFTA in Scotland

This category is available through BAFTA to individuals who:

  • Are based in Scotland and have worked full-time for at least five years in a creative, technical or executive role directly related to the production of feature films, video games, and television programming broadcast in the UK.
  • Have made a significant contribution to their sector of the industry.

These members are entitled to:

  • all rights of benefits of membership and BAFTA
  • additional rights and benefits with BAFTA in Scotland.
  • entitled to attend BAFTA screenings and events in Scotland and elsewhere in the UK at no or reduced cost.

Full membership applications will be considered annually and are awarded at the discretion of the BAFTA UK membership committees.

The annual deadline for Full membership is 31 March.

Associate (Branch) Membership

Scotland only

This category is offered to those members who:

  • Are working in, or who have retired from, Scotland's screen industry.
  • Have made a significant contribution to the Scottish moving image industries.
  • Are not eligible for Full BAFTA membership, or are not interested in the additional benefits of Full membership.

These members are entitled to:

  • Attend weekly preview screenings in Glasgow(twice a month on Mondays in Edinburgh).
  • Attend all the events and special screenings held in Scotland.
  • Voting rights with BAFTA in Scotland.
  • Members offers which currently include free admission to any film at any time in Cineworld, Monday-Thursday
  • All Scottish-based benefits to be offered either at reduced rates or free of charge.

The annual deadline for Branch membership is 01 June.

BAFTA in Scotland Student Membership

Scotland only

This category is offered to students of film, television and multimedia studying in Scotland. Students must provide a copy of a current matriculation card as identification.

These members are entitled to:

  • Attend selected events and screenings.
  • Members offers which currently include free admission to any film at any time in Cineworld, Monday-Thursday

The annual deadline for student membership is 30 September.

Full (Scotland Branch) Membership: £260.00 incl. VAT
(Full BAFTA membership including additional rights and benefits in Scotland)

Scotland Branch (Associate) Membership: £105.00 incl. VAT

Scotland Branch Student Membership: £45.00 incl. VAT
(a copy of current matriculation card must be provided)
