As part of BAFTA Los Angeles' outreach work, Leila Djansi has been presented with BAFTA Los Angeles’ 2011 Pan African Film Festival Choice Prize for her film “I Sing of a Well”.

Board members Katy Haber (co-chair of Community Outreach & Education Committee) and David L. Simon presented the prize of 100 DVD copies of her film, which the filmmaker intends to distribute to schools, universities and libraries in Ghana as a means of sharing Ghana’s history with the younger generation of her country.

BAFTA Los Angeles’ ongoing participation with the Pan African Film Festival also included an educational seminar on music budgeting for film.
