BAFTA is seeking a new Director for BAFTA in Wales to lead the organisation through its next phase of development in Wales.

BAFTA is the leading UK organisation promoting and rewarding excellence in the art forms of the moving image which today encompasses film, television and games. The Academy now seeks a new Director for BAFTA in Wales to lead the organisation through its next phase of development in Wales.
The Director will be responsible for managing BAFTA in Wales’s programme of screenings and events including the Welsh film, television and games industries’ main Awards ceremony, the British Academy Cymru Awards. The Director should also have ideas and the ability to help BAFTA expand its activities throughout Wales with new events which will help establish the charity as a significant contributor to the Welsh creative industries. These events should be aimed at educating the public as well as inspiring the practitioners in BAFTA’s three industries.
The Director will be self-motivated, able to inspire staff and others around them, successfully represent the BAFTA brand and also able to work with and service an elected committee. The Director should also be experienced in fund raising and able to work with and manage sponsorship relationships. The Director will work closely with the senior executive of BAFTA in London and its committees to develop a common strategy for BAFTA across the UK.
Knowledge of the media and creative industries in Wales – for both English language and Welsh language audiences - and the UK is essential as is the drive to significantly raise BAFTA’s profile in Wales. Ultimately, we are looking for someone who is able to take BAFTA in Wales forward and make it relevant to everyone in Wales who goes to the cinema, watches television or plays a video game.
The position could be offered on a part-time or flexible basis for the right candidate.
