Freelance Project Coordinator

Contract type: Freelance contract 3-5 days per week. 3 month initial period.
Day rate: £120-£150 per day dependent on experience
Start date: w/c 1st October (negotiable)

NB This post is funding dependent so we have designed the application process to be as straightforward as possible.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Assist with Young Game Designers initiative – targeted at 10-18 year olds interested in making their own games, including:
  • Populate the new website with content
  • Maintain communication with YGD audience
  • Maintain relationships with event partners
  • Recruit participants for YGD workshops
  • Manage communication with teachers and schools
  • Manage competition administration and communication with jury
  • Assist with BAFTA Crew for games (dependent on funding) – a nationwide network of games professionals consisting of online networking and live and online masterclasses
  • Coordinate recruitment for the scheme
  • Publicise scheme via partners and other channels
  • Coordinate application process
  • Respond to enquiries
  • Live and online event delivery
  • Other tasks as directed by Skills Development Manager and Director of Learning and Events

Person Specification

The candidate should be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience of event management and delivery (essential)
  • Interest in the games industry
  • Excellent coordination and administration skills – keeping internal and external stakeholders informed, working to deadlines, managing own workload
  • Excellent communication skills – in terms of personal presentation and in terms of communicating with an audience
