A BAFTA winner for her performance in They Shoot Horses, Don’t They? (1969), York came to fame in Tunes of Glory (1960) and built on this with acclaimed work in movies including Tom Jones (1963), A Man For All Seasons (1966), The Killing of Sister George (1968) and Images (1972).
