A character actor on stage and screen, Woods is best known as the sweet shop owner who sings The Candy Man in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1972). Other roles include Smike in Nicholas Nickleby (1947), with My Honourable Mrs (1975) and Nice Work (1980) among his television work.
