A proud champion of the North-West, Wilson hosted the influential Granada music show So It Goes (1976-77). He also presented current affairs programmes, but will best be remembered for founding Factory Records and nurturing several major 90s bands, events depicted with some comedic licence in 24 Hour Party People (2002).
