A British actor renowned for his Shakespearean roles on the stage, Willis also performed live theatre on television, notably in the BBC’s pioneering An Age of Kings (1960). He also starred in Within These Walls (1974-1978), and was best known to film viewers for roles in Winstanley (1975), Orlando (1992) and Perfume: The Story of a Murderer (2006).
