A child star in 1930s Hollywood, Watson took scores of non-speaking and uncredited roles during that time. But he did have more substantial roles playing Peter the goatherd in the Shirley Temple vehicle Heidi (1937) and as Guy Kibbee’s son in Frank Capra’s sublime Mr Smith Goes To Washington (1939).
