Television Executive

A long time chairman of Anglia Television, Townshend helped found the company in 1958 and remained in that post until his retirement in 1986. Under his stewardship the company blossomed, punching well above its weight as a producer of popular documentaries including wildlife films in the highly regarded Survival strand.
