A television director who found his niche in comedy, Stroud was BAFTA-nominated for his work on Educating Marmalade (1983) and Game-On (1997). He also directed episodes of Channel 4 sketch show Who Dares Wins (1983), Spitting Image (1984), Harry Enfield and Chums (1994) and My Hero (2000-06), among others.
