Spelling had several screen credits, including acting in Dragnet and screenwriting for Wagon Train, before becoming a successful, award-winning TV producer. He enjoyed huge success in the 70s and 80s with shows such as Dynasty, Charlie's Angels and Starsky and Hutch, and with 90s high-school soap Beverly Hills 90210.
