A taboo-busting stand-up comedian, Schimmel was the star of several television specials and proved a popular, if provocative, talk show guest. He wrote material for In Living Color (1992-93) and had cameos in films such as Blankman (1994), A Low Down Dirty Shame (1994) and Scary Movie 2 (2001).
