A contract player at Warner Bros. during the 1930s, Roberts played character parts in a varied range of films, from The Singing Kid (1936) opposite Al Jolson, to Two Against The World (1936) alongside Humphrey Bogart. Others include West of Shanghai (1937), Flirting With Fate (1938) and Tropic Fury (1939).
