After a theatre start as Vivien Leigh's understudy, Redmond's career took flight. Her long film and TV career comprised striking roles in costume dramas such as Edward the King (1975) and, later, parts in crime series The Alleyn Mysteries, Dixon of Dock Green and The Sweeney.
