A versatile saxophonist who worked with many musical greats, Randolph performed on several of Elvis Presley's movie soundtracks. But it is his composition Yakety Sax, released as a single in 1963 and later familiar as the accompaniment to Benny Hill's comedy chases that remains his enduring gift to British showbusiness.
