A recognisable character actor from the 1980s on, Prosky came to wider prominence as Sergeant Stan Jablonski in Hill Street Blues (1984-87). His best known film role was as a television station owner in Mrs Doubtfire (1993), others coming in The Natural (1984), Hoffa (1992), and Dead Man Walking (1995).
