A German born screenwriter, Prawer Jhabvala was BAFTA nominated four times for her work with producer Ismail Merchant and director James Ivory. She won for Heat & Dust (1983), with her other nominations coming for A Room With A View (1985), Howards End (1992) and Remains of the Day (1993).
