An actress whose name was synonymous with Hammer horror films, Pitt first came to notice in Where Eagles Dare (1968). She subsequently played the lead in The Vampire Lovers (1970) and Countess Dracula (1971), also featuring in The House That Dripped Blood (1971) and cult favourite The Wicker Man (1973).
