A versatile character actor, Peters appeared in a range of popular programmes including Porridge (1974), Dad’s Army (1974), Pennies From Heaven (1978) and All Creatures Great and Small (1980). But he was best known for playing the character of Jack Woolley in the long running radio series The Archers (1980-2011).
