A gaffer rising through the ranks of the lighting department, McIntosh gained experience on Dear Frankie (2004), Alfie (2004), Starter For Ten (2006), Miss Potter (2006) Hallam Foe (2007) and most recently A Bunch of Amateurs (2008). At the time of his death he was working on Sherlock Holmes (2009).
