Daughter of a distinguished acting family, Massey won a BAFTA for her performance in the television production Hotel du Lac (1986). Her many films include Peeping Tom (1960) and Frenzy (1971), with The Pallisers (1974), The Mayor Casterbridge (1978), Rebecca (1979) and Mansfield Park (1983) among her extensive television credits.
