Already a seasoned screen actor by the time of his best known role, MacArthur was familiar to television audiences as Detective Danny ‘Danno’ Williams in Hawaii Five-0 (1968-79). His films include The Young Stranger (1957), for which he was BAFTA nominated, Swiss Family Robinson (1960) and The Bedford Incident (1965).
