A Prague born character actor, Lom brought a brooding presence to many memorable roles in films such as Night and the City (1950) and The Ladykillers (1955) but will be best remembered as Clouseau’s exasperated boss Dreyfus in the Pink Panther films beginning with A Shot In The Dark (1964).
