A talented foil for the likes of Laurel & Hardy, Layton starred opposite the pair in their short films Chickens Come Home (1932), The Chimp (1932), Country Hospital (1932) and Pack Up Your Troubles (1932). She also appeared in the George Raft feature Pick-up (1933) before her retirement in 1934.
