A Japanese actor based in England, Kusuhara appeared as the cruel deputy commandant in the long running series Tenko (1981-85). He showed a more playful side as narrator of Channel 4’s Banzai (2001) and appeared in a range of British dramas and sitcoms, as well as films including Topsy-Turvy (1999).
