As a classically trained actress, Kneale’s reputation rested upon her interpretation of the works of Chekhov, Wilde and most notably Shakespeare. She regularly appeared on television, with her best known roles coming in The Budds of Paragon Row (1959), A For Andromeda (1961), No Hiding Place (1961-62) and Rosie (1981).
