A former actor who later made his name scripting erotic stories, King wrote and produced Nine ½ Weeks (1986) and directed other films including Two Moon Junction (1988), Wild Orchid (1989), Delta of Venus (1995) along with Red Shoe Diaries (1992) which was also turned into a popular television series.
