Predominantly a stage actor, most notably at the Stratford Festival in his native Canada, Hutt's most significant television appearances were in recorded versions of his plays. He also starred in the theatrically orientated comedy series Slings & Arrows (2006). Rare movie appearances include The Fixer (1968) and The Statement (2003).
