Along with her husband Jean-Marie Straub, Huillet wrote, produced, directed and edited a succession of acclaimed, award-winning European arthouse films. These included The Chronicle of Anna Magdalena Bach (1968), Klassenverhältnisse (1984), Der Tod des Empedokles (1987), From Today Until Tomorrow (1997), Sicily! (1999) and Quei loro incontri (2006).
