A television director who learned his craft at the BBC, Horsbrugh would become associated with popular recurring dramas including Emmerdale (1999-2006) for which he won a BAFTA in 2001. Other credits include New Scotland Yard (1972-74), Crown Court (1974-83), Cribb (1980), Juliet Bravo (1982), Bergerac (1984) and Coronation Street (1990).
