A longtime collaborator of fellow New Zealander Peter Jackson, Hopkins was BAFTA nominated five times for Superman (1979), each of The Lord of the Rings trilogy (2001-03) and King Kong (2005). His other major movie credits in various sound department capacities include Transformers (2007), Valkyrie (2008) and Public Enemies (2009).
