Stephen Hearst

A former documentary filmmaker, Hearst served as the BBC’s head of arts features from 1967 and under his tenure landmark series such as Kenneth Clark’s Civilisation (1969) and Alistair Cooke’s America (1972-73) were made. He was later head of a BBC think tank and special adviser to Director-General Alasdair Milne.
