Beginning his career on radio and later writing films including Peyton Place (1957) and The Carpetbaggers (1964), Hayes will be best remembered for his association with Alfred Hitchcock, scripting Rear Window (1954), To Catch A Thief (1955), The Trouble With Harry (1956) and The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956).
