A pioneer in the use of location sound recording, Handford is particularly associated with the British new wave, working on Room At The Top (1959), The Entertainer (1960) and Saturday Night and Sunday Morning (1960) among others. Later films include Out of Africa (1985) and Gorillas In The Mist (1988).
