Seemingly destined for stardom at MGM, Garrett saw her career cut short by the HUAC blacklist. She had shown star quality in films such as Take Me Out To The Ball Game (1949), Neptune’s Daughter (1949) and On The Town (1949) and eventually enjoyed renewed success on stage and television.
