A character actor on stage and screen, Gardner played Mr Beaver in an ITV production of The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe (1967), also appearing in popular series such as Z Cars (1963-73) and Doctor Who (1964-78). His film appearances include Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004).
