George Furth

14 December 1932 - 11 August 2008

Actor

A noted librettist who worked in collaboration with Stephen Sondheim on shows such as Company, Furth will be best known to film audiences for his performance as mild mannered train guard Woodcock in Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid (1969). His other films include Blazing Saddles (1974) and Shampoo (1975).
