An influential German filmmaker and head of Constantin Films, Eichinger produced an impressively varied selection of movies during his long career. These include The Neverending Story (1984), The Name of the Rose (1986), Resident Evil (2002), Downfall (2004), Fantastic Four (2005) and – in addition co-writing – The Baader Meinhof Complex (2008).
