Rising through the ranks of BBC production, Dowling originated a succession of popular children’s television programmes. These included the groundbreaking, BAFTA-winning Vision On (1964-76), Why Don’t You….Just Switch Off Your Television Set And Go And Do Something Less Boring Instead? (1973-94), Take Hart (1977-93) and The Adventure Game (1980-86).
