The son of a playwright with experience of his own in journalism, Doran applied these influences to his work on popular series such as Z Cars (1962), Dr Finlay’s Casebook (1964), Public Eye (1971-75) and Juliet Bravo (1982). He also contributed to the wartime drama Enemy At The Door (1978-80).
