The distinctive, internationally recognised BAFTA mask was the work of American born sculptor Cunliffe. Originally commissioned in 1955, the design incorporates features that reflect not only the craft of acting but the electronic media too, evidence of the prescience involved in the creation of an iconic and highly coveted award.
