Frenchman Castelli produced the original Broadway production of Hair in 1967, belatedly made into a movie in 1979, and oversaw the various international versions of it. A painter and choreographer, Castelli also appeared in the western Thunder In The Sun (1959), and wrote and produced the political satire Richard (1972).
