A star of the French nouvelle vague, Brialy's breakthrough came in Chabrol's Le Beau Serge (1958). Over 50 years he appeared in 185 movies, as well as television and stage productions. His major credits include Les 400 Coups (1959), Paris Nous Appartient (1960) and Un Homme Est Une Femme (1961).
