An early association with Alfred Hitchcock’s American films led to Boyle working with the director on such hits as North By Northwest (1959), The Birds (1963) and Marnie (1964). Other notable films include Cape Fear (1962), The Thomas Crown Affair (1968), Fiddler On The Roof (1971) and Private Benjamin (1980).
