Success writing scripts for television dramas in New York brought Berg to Hollywood, where he created the series Johnny Staccato (1959-60) for John Cassavetes. He later turned to producing, finding success with dramas including The Martian Chronicles (1980), Space (1985) – which he also co-wrote – and Wallenberg: A Hero’s Story (1985).
