After coming to national attention as one of the regulars on ITV’s The Comedians (1971), Bennett went on to greater things with his BBC comedy and sketch show Lenny & Jerry (1978-1980) alongside Jerry Stevens. Thereafter, he found success hosting the gameshows Punchlines (1981-84) and Lucky Ladders (1988-93).
