Turning to writing after his acting career failed to take off, Behm enjoyed early success with the screenplay for Charade (1963) which was adapted from his own novel. He also wrote or contributed to such diverse films as Help! (1965), Someone Behind The Door (1971) and Lady Chatterley’s Lover (1981).
