A masterful interpreter of the French chanson, Bashung was a huge star in Francophone countries. He also wrote scores for productions on both the big and small screen, and acted in films such as Nestor Burma, Détective de Choc (1982), La Confusion de Genres (2000) and Félix et Lola (2001).
